The Stichting Nationale Herdenking ‘s-Gravenhage aims to commemorate in a dignified manner those who died in the resistance, in service of the Dutch armed forces or the Dutch merchant navy in the years 1940-1945, or victims due to race, religion and conviction or forced labour outside the Netherlands. To this end, it organises silent marches to and gatherings at nine memorial sites in The Hague every year on 4 May.<\/p>\n
